QUAD-PLATE
Exceptionally accurate software for Finite Element Analysis of stresses, strains and deflections in plate-and-beam structures.
QUAD-PLATE is mathematical software for Finite Element Analysis of stresses, strains and deflections arising in complex structures comprised of plates and beams.

QUAD-PLATE is offered with complete source codes written in standard C/C++. It is available without any royalties or additional fees.
Finite Elements Models of 3D Structures
QUAD-PLATE has the following capabilities:

  • Analysis of isotropic plates having complex, arbitrary geometries: irregular, rounded, with multiple holes, etc.

  • Analysis of plates reinforced by stiffeners (beams).

  • Kinematic boundary conditions (constraints) can be applied at any node of the finite element mesh.

  • Analysis of plates on elastic foundations (elastic spring supports).

  • Point forces and moments, as well as distributed loads can be applied to all relevant components of the model, i.e. to nodes or finite elements surfaces, respectively.

  • Analysis may include the self-weight of structure as well as horizontal wind loads

  • QUAD-PLATE numerical results are presented in a number of files using the standard (ASCII) text format, and include

  • displacements and angles of rotation at the mesh nodes

  • maximum and minimum principal stresses, stress intensity and the equavalent (von Mises) stress values computed at the finite elements' center points at the elements' top, bottom and middle planes in 3D case

  • moments, axial and shear forces computed at the finite elements' center points in 2D case

  • reactions at the constrained nodes

  • moments, axial and shear forces computed at beam nodes in the beams' local coordinate systems

  • Since QUAD-PLATE is provided with comple source codes, the numerical output can be readily extended and modified to suit the user's needs.

QUAD-PLATE is offered in 2D and 3D implementations. Both implementations of QUAD-PLATE elements are based on the Mindlin theory of plates. QUAD-PLATE implementation of beam elements is based on the Bernoulli theory.

To illustrate the capabilities of QUAD-PLATE 2D, consider structural analysis of bending of perforated panel under wind loading.
To illustrate the capabilities of QUAD-PLATE 3D, consider structural analysis of Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit.
To illustrate the accuracy of QUAD-PLATE, consider the problem of bending of thin plate under the action of uniform load for which the analytical solution is known.
QUAD-PLATE is available with complete source codes and the full commercial lisence allowing easy incorporation into your own applications. All our codes are written in standard C/C++ and will compile and run on all UNIX and Windows platforms without changes. They are also fully commented, allowing easy modification at user's discretion.

QUAD-PLATE is available on no-royalties and no-annual-renewals basis: there is a one-off price for an unlimited commercial lisence.

    QUAD-PLATE standard distribution kit includes:

    - fully-commented source codes of the program in C and C++.

    - the product's User Manual containing detailed description of input and output data structures;

    - a graphical application that allows the user to visualize input and output data for each particular example created by the user.

QUAD-PLATE has been completely developed by our company and contains no third party code.
